Telit GT864-QUAD-PY terminal for GSM GPRS networks

Overview

The new GT864 terminal is a complete encased modem solution for wireless m2m applications based on the quad-band and RoHS compliant GE864 core engine with integrated SIM holder as well as additional features. The GT864 is capable of communicating through all traditional data services provided by GSM/GPRS networks. Offering extended operating temperature, integrated TCP/IP stack, direct control by standard serial RS-232 interface, and with a broad supply voltage range (5–36V DC), the GT864 terminal is a complete stand alone solution for m2m applications.

The Telit GT864-QUAD model has analog audio I/Os at the mini USB connector supporting connectivity for a headset, while the Telit GT864-PY model has, on the same connector, a set of general purpose inputs. The GT864-PY offers the possibility of running the customer's application inside the module, thus making this terminal a complete platform for m2m solutions.

All Telit modules, support Over-the-Air firmware update by means Premium FOTA Management. By embedding RedBend’s vCurrent® agent, a proven and battle-tested technology powering hundreds of millions of cellular handsets world-wide Telit is able to update its products by transmitting only a delta file, which represents the difference between one firmware version and another. As a part of Telit’s corporate policy of environmental protection, all products comply to the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive of the European Union (EU Directive 2002/95/EG).

Software

ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server is a Windows-based software package that enables you to send, receive and process SMS and e-mail messages. Supported communication protocols: GSM, HTTP, SMPP, SMTP, POP3. Incoming messages are processed by 'triggers', and can be fully customized.

It's a framework for any scenario where one/two-way SMS is required. Create a voting/polling system, send out mass SMS broadcasts, create a reservation system, etc.. Real-life case-studies are included as sample projects.
