Mobile Phones - Phillips

Philips Azalis 268 WAP

Description:
Az@lis 268 also has a Vibra calling alert for a discreet warning of incoming calls in places where the user would prefer not to use the audible ringer.

What makes Az@lis 268 stand out is its innovative use of materials and textures to create a ‘look and feel’ that is highly distinctive in every way. As well as the choice of new night blue, sky blue and storm grey colours, Az@lis 268 uses a bold combination of plastic, metal and natural rubber on the front panel to add a high recognition value and immediate user appeal.

The large, elliptical window bezel is surrounded by a soft rubber moulding. The large navigation key is metalized and enhanced by a contrasting rubber surface. All the rubber details are finished in an accent tone to complement the choice of colour, with the metal of the navigation key forming an additional contrasting highlight.

Next to their outstanding design, both these new Az@lis models offer a host of extra features that are sure to enrich any user’s personal communication experience.
Custom ringer melodies can be forwarded by SMS
Az@lis 268 and 288 owners can download ringer melodies from the Philips or operators’ websites, as well as creating their own melodies which can even be forwarded via SMS messages. When creating SMS messages, the phone’s T9 function makes it easier than ever to enter the desired text. It recognises the most commonly used word of a numeric sequence and a choice of 10 predefined messages is available to make writing even faster and easier. Text messages can be enhanced with Philips’ exclusive 50 SMS ‘emotion icons’, which add an extra visual dimension to users’ messages. These icons and ringer melodies are received by other owners of compatible Philips mobile phones as expressive images conveying a range of easily recognizable emotions. Az@lis 288 also has an SMS delivery report function, which provides a positive confirmation that a message has been received.

Other fun features like a ‘brick’ game, animated clock, displayed even in idle mode, alarm that can be set even when the phone is off, plus built-in calculator and euro converter complete the ability of this very personal phone to match the individual user’s personality and preferences.

WAP technology for web access
Thanks to its built-in WAP technology, Az@lis 268 offers on-the-move access to a wide range of web-based information and services. All it takes to access those services is a single press on the @ key in the carousel menu, or even just a spoken command thanks to the phone’s built-in Voice Command feature.

This also gives convenient access to many more functions, avoiding the need for users to navigate the menu system whenever they want to call a stored number or change a setting. For example, calls can be made to any number stored in memory simply by speaking the name of the person to be dialed (up to10 numbers). These Voice Command and Voice Dial functions underline Philips’ leadership position in the application of voice recognition technology, used to make operation both easier and safer.

Convenient carousel control
Of course if users choose to use the menus it is very convenient to do so. Philips’ award-winning carousel system makes navigation simple and intuitive, with easy-to-understand smart icons. The carousel displays up to 5 icons at a time, each visually expressing a function or feature of the phone. This gives far superior navigation control of the phone’s features than a conventional, vertically scrolling text menu, with easily recognizable icons that make it much easier to locate specific features.

This compact, easy-to-handle phone has a minimal weight of only 99 grams, with a slim profile that makes it an easy fit in the pocket.

Philips FISIO 312 GPRS

Description:
For mobile phone users who want the same fast, convenient Internet access which they are used to at home, Philips FISIO 312 GPRS (GSM-IP) is the latest answer.

Talk times are up to 4 hours 30 minutes, and standby times are as long as 400 hours - or nearly 2˝ weeks of normal operation. It weighs 109 grams and has an easily pocketable volume between 95-98 cc.

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is the newest generation of mobile data communication technology, and allows information to be received up to 4 times as fast as conventional wireless data communication. This technology also allows both voice and data communication to be combined, for example by receiving an incoming voice call in the middle of a data communication session. Data communication costs are also significantly reduced, because GPRS offers an ‘always on’ connection in which users are only charged for the amount of data transferred. In addition to its state-of-the-art GPRS technology, Philips FISIO 312 further extends the capabilities of the FISIO 300 range. For example, the Voice Dial/Voice Command function is extended to up to 15 Voice Dial numbers. This model also has a selection of local and downloadable games over the air.
